RSS Feeds

RSSiconSquareConductOnline is unique amongst behaviour management software applications with it's delivery of data to your web browser, PDA, mobile phone, web site or feed reader via RSS feeds.

ConductOnline allows users to find student groups, such as a year group or form group, save an RSS feed link and then copy this into any application that supports the global RSS 2.0 standard.

Just like any other RSS feed, your ConductOnline feeds will be automatically updated with new conduct incidents when they are created and you open your RSS app or feed link in your web browser.

We really like the way feeds can be accessed on mobile devices such as the iPhone. Once you've decided which groups to monitor, you never need to go searching for incidents again, they are delivered straight to your phone. The power of RSS feeds on the iPhone will be enhanced further when feed readers start to incorporate the latest push data features of the new iPhone OS to check feeds periodically in the background and alert you when a new feed item is created.

RSS Feeds can be created from any found set. Search for any criteria in the conduct list and click the RSS icon, give your feed a name (see above) and save it. The feed link can then be copied for use in your browser or feed reader and other feeds managed using the Admin menu and selecting My Details > Manage RSS (see below). ConductOnline allows you to create as many feeds as you like.

The screen shot below shows a feed reader with 5 feeds created and saved from ConductOnline. Each feed displays contextual content based on the original search criteria used. In our example we have a feed for the whole school, two individual pupils, a form group and a year group. Items within a feed can also be filtered using the filter field. This allows you to filter any of the content for a subject, pupil, behaviour, etc.
