System Setup & Admin

ConductOnline requires minimal setup as the majority of installation and setup takes place on our servers when you register your school.

The remaining setup is straightforward, the main parts being:

Import staff users from your MIS system via an Excel spreadsheet
Import pupils from your MIS system via an Excel spreadsheet
Set value lists for drop down menus for things like form groups to reflect your school
Add a PDF background template for your letters
Change behaviour list and points to suit your school
Add your chosen selection of standard letters
Start using the software!

There is usually NO software or settings to sort out on users computers. All that is required is a web browser such as Safari 3+, Firefox 3+ or IE7+ and access to the internet.

Another advantage of having everything installed and saved on our servers is that you don't have to worry about access problems, network issues or firewall restrictions. Access is available anytime and from anywhere you have access to the internet. No messing with your system, no problems with network settings, no waiting for your IT guys to get things setup and working.

We handle the installation and setup of the following: your database, all web files, initial default admin settings, default letter templates, email activation, SMS text messaging gateway server, FTP account and scheduled backups. Depending on the operating system, you might have to install FlashPlayer 9 or later to view the behaviour charts.

We can import staff or student data if necessary, just provide us with an Excel file. We can also take care of any large scale data changes, usually within a few minutes. For example, you have 250 students tagged to a particular Head of Year who has now left, you need these students to be tagged to a new Head of Year, we can do this in seconds without you having to manually change each students record.

We also develop, install and let you know about system updates. There is usually no interruption to service. We try to enhance and improve the ConductOnline system regularly throughout the year, there will usually be at least 2 major updates and a number of minor ones. We will notify you of updates via the news portal on your ConductOnline login screen.
